The cold water stabs my face
And trickles down my neck
Following the line of my necklace
All the way to my chest
My ears ache
Sounds of slashing
Crashing water hitting rock
It is loud here.
Bumps have grown on my skin
Below my blonde arm hair
Like little hills
A challenge to climb over.
He is singing to me
Humming his lures
Serenading me with his lies.
The water is louder
Its draining out his voice
Drowning out the sound
I am thankful.
The cold water covers me
It runs down my side
Collapsing every inch of me
That he ever touched.
Broken am I
To the softest touch
To the kindest word
To the smoothest kiss
He has crushed me.
As this waterfall crushes me now
I am forced to the dirt
By the pressure
The water gripping me
And pulling me under
Below the surface of everything
I will seep
Lower than before
Below rock bottom
I will fall
Before Him I will crawl
Dripping wet
Singing
And Screaming out
In colored verse
In textured lyric
I will cry.
Honest I will sing
And Broken I will Hum
I’ve been crushed
By a waterfall.
