Fight for Life
The snowflakes fall onto the concrete benches swift
And flurries hustle in taking promise of Heaven’s joyous lift
The bluebird rushes to the oak trees tallest, lone post
And screams to the tower in a most refreshing coast
The town folk freeze at the melancholy bluebirds scream
And in the river beside the dock, the fish they swim upstream
Fighting, until bloody, the current to reach their blessed oppose
To mate and therein gain the life of which the world bestows
The bluebird rushes through the white city of busy folk in wonder
And floats up to the sky of shocking cloudless asunder
The snowflakes cease to fall as the bird fleets through the haze
All the while the fog does thicken and all sights then turn to praise
No street light can settle the choking silenced sound
Of nature defying reality, a vine shoots from the ground
Again, the snowflakes fall onto the concrete benches swift
And flurries hustle in taking promise of Heaven’s joyous lift.
